Long Biên

183.

Ðừng làm các điều ác,
Tu tập mọi hạnh lành
Giữ tâm ý trong sạch.
Ðó là lời Phật dạy.

183.

Sabbapāpassa akaraṇaṃ, 

kusalassa upasampadā [kusalassūpasampadā (syā.)];

Sacittapariyodapanaṃ [sacittapariyodāpanaṃ (?)], 

etaṃ buddhāna sāsanaṃ.

Attā hi attano nātho,

Attanā hi sudantena,

Oneself, indeed, is one's saviour,
for what other saviour would there be?
With oneself well controlled,
one obtains a saviour difficult to find. -- 160

Hãy nương tựa chính mình,
Chứ nương tựa ai khác?
Người khéo điều phục mình,
Ðạt chỗ tựa khó đạt.
